The world of saddlery, a realm of luxury craftsmanship and expert processing, is Jean-Marie Massaud’s inspiration for GranTorino, a system of modular sofas which, in its most original and precious version, pairs saddle-leather with Pelle Frau® leather or fabric.
The saddle-leather, cut and moulded by hand, closely follows the lines and geometries of the seating. Precision and complex workmanship also for the slim high armrest and the low armrest, also available with a little compartment that houses an elegant natural oak tray.
GranTorino is a sofa that manages to combine compact, well-calibrated volumes, which minimise its overall dimensions, with extremely comfortable seats. The structure is in tubular metal with woven elastic belts. The backrests and armrests are made from birch plywood panel. The seat is padded with variable density CFC-free polyurethane foam and pressed felt. The backrest cushions are padded with goose down and have separate horizontal chambers to provide varied, ergonomic comfort. The feet are in titanium-coloured aluminium. The GranTorino sofa can be upholstered entirely in Pelle Frau® leather or in the options that combine multiple materials.
